Time for another twist this season! It's not exactly a twist, but it is game related nonetheless. Last season, the "Karma" feature was introduced, which allowed other Castaways to "exalt" (give a point) or "smite" (take away a point) another Castaway. This season, we will be doing things a little differently. Each day, you will be given 5 points to exalt or smite other Castaways with. You cannot award these points to yourself, only to others. These points must be submitted by 8:00 PM each day, or they will not count for that day. Please PM these allocations to Jen. The Karma feature will begin today, so send those points soon!
What exactly is the point of this feature? Well, following each week's IC, I will announce the Castaway with the highest amount of Karma points. This Castaway will be safe from being voted out during that week's TC. If they managed to win Immunity at the IC, then Karma Immunity does not matter to them. Therefore, you will have two days to allocate points for this week's Karma. Points will carry over to future weeks, so if you don't have enough to win this week, you could still get more in the future. If you have any questions, please PM Jen.
Good afternoon Castaways, and welcome to this week's RC! Today's challenge is called "Pugnacious For Points."
Below you will find a list of questions from the TV version of Survivor: Panama - Exile Island. Your task is simple: Answer the questions correctly in a timely fashion! The more questions you answer correctly and the faster you submit them, the more Karma points you will earn.
Here's how scoring will work: The first Castaway to answer all ten questions correctly will win 10 points. The second to do so will win 9, and so on. If you do not get all the questions correct, then you will receive the next point value after the Castaway who gets ten correct and submits their answer last.
For example, take the following scores and times into account:
Jesse gets 9 correct, submits answer at 5:02 PM.
Bobby gets 6 correct, submits answer at 4:46 PM.
Christy gets 10 correct, submits answer at 6:03 PM.
Donna gets 10 correct, submits answer at 5:56 PM.
Caleb gets 4 correct, submits answer at 4:39 PM.
Kathleen gets 8 correct, submits answer at 5:12 PM.
Elliott gets 10 correct, submits answer at 5:40 PM.
Kevin gets 9 correct, submits answer at 5:22 PM.
Shii-Ann gets 10 correct, submits answer at 7:05 PM.
Brandon gets 9 correct, submits answer at 5:58 PM.
The results would be as follows:
1st - Elliott - 10 points
2nd - Donna - 9 points
3rd - Christy - 8 points
4th - Shii-Ann - 7 points
5th - Jesse - 6 points
6th - Kevin - 5 points
7th - Brandon - 4 points
8th - Kathleen - 3 points
9th - Bobby - 2 points
10th - Caleb - 1 point
As for the team aspect of this challenge, the tribe with the most collective points will win and will send someone from their own tribe to Exile Island and also one other person from one of the losing tribes. In the above example, Anse la Raye would end with 18 points, Choiseul would end with 11 points, Dennery would end with 12 points, Laborie would end with 8 points, and Micoud would end with 5 points making Anse la Raye the winner. If there is a tie, whichever tribe the first-place Castaway is on will win. In addition, the two who are exiled will receive the first clue to the HII.
This RC will last until tomorrow at 1:00 PM. At that time, I will tabulate the results if everyone has not submitted. If everyone submits their answers early, I will post the results early. Please PM Brandon with your answers so he can easily see the order in which Castaways submit. If you have any questions, please ask!
Here are the questions:
1. How many challenges did the Casaya tribe win?
2. How many Castaways were on the show?
3. How many votes did Aras receive to win the title of Sole Survivor?
4. Which Jurors voted for Aras to gain this title?
5. How many immunities and reward challenges were won in total by both Aras, Cirie, & Terry?
6. What was the first filming date?
7. Which Castaways received votes during Week 5?
8. Which Castaways made Survivor: Micronesia?
9. Who was the Runner-Up?
10. What is the name of the episode that aired on May 4, 2006?
Survivors ready? Go!
